App updates
Each app version that reached users, newest first. The app shows its version on the About page.
App version 0.6.2
Fixes. A question you flag and then remove from your mistakes no longer comes back after syncing, and Undo now holds after syncing. Leaving the results screen of a mock exam no longer deletes a mock exam you started on the website. If you are subscribed, opening the app no longer starts extra checks with the server, and signing in to an account that already has a subscription now starts downloading the paid content straight away. "You're signed out." and "Your account has been deleted." now appear after the Account screen closes, and the Delete account box starts empty each time you open it. The Back button on a concept card now takes one press after you start practising from it. When the Account screen cannot load your details, it now says so instead of showing Google as "Not linked". The Narration audio rows in Settings now reload on their own once you are back online, and italic text on concept cards now shows in italics instead of between asterisks.
App version 0.6.0
Small fixes and improvements.
App version 0.5.0
You can now sign in with an email code or with Google. Your answers, mistakes and flagged questions follow your account to other phones, what you buy or redeem belongs to the account, and you can sign out or delete the account from the Account screen (deleting asks you to type your email). Buying, redeeming a code and restoring purchases now ask you to sign in first. Mock exam results taken on the website and in the app appear in both, full exams only. The first tap on a button now works while the keyboard is open, so you no longer tap twice on sign-in, redeeming and feedback. If the server is briefly unavailable when you redeem a code, the app lets you retry and says your code has not been used. If your Google Play subscription cannot be matched to your account yet, the unlock screen says so, and a subscription bought on the website shows how to cancel it there. The Back button on a concept card now returns to the list. The mock exam page says "1 sitting" after one exam. Explanations and notices across the app are shorter, and the sign-in, redeem, account and empty screens have new illustrations.
App version 0.4.0
Redeeming a code now shows how much time it adds in the title, 1 week or 1 month. A one-month code adds one calendar month, for example 5 October to 5 November, not a flat 30 days. If we withdraw a code, the app removes it from your phone and carries on with the codes you have left. Bold text in questions, answer options and explanations is shown in bold instead of with asterisks. The mock exam result now says "Met" or "Not met" against the app's standard, instead of "Passed" or "Not this time". The About screen now links to the official sources behind the questions: the ICBC driver guide, the ICBC knowledge test, the learner licence page and RoadSafetyBC. After you cancel in Google Play, the unlock screen now tells you that nothing was charged.
App version 0.3.0
The Google Play version now sells three subscriptions: weekly, monthly and quarterly (every 3 months). On Where you stand, a topic below the standard now says how many points it is short, for example "72% · 8 points short", where it used to say "8 short". Reporting a problem or sending feedback from an out-of-date version of the app now asks you to update.
App version 0.2.0
Settings has a new Study articles row that opens the articles on this website in your interface language. The version downloaded from this website now explains on the unlock screen how to buy a redemption code, with a button to the prices on this website; the Google Play version does not have this change.
App version 0.1.10
During a mock exam, pressing Back now asks before you leave. Pages opened from a link go back to the home screen. Redemption codes typed in full-width characters are accepted, and phones set to Cantonese show Traditional Chinese by default. If you are offline or the store does not answer, the app keeps your last known unlock. If a payment goes through but nothing unlocks, the app asks you not to buy again and to contact us from Settings. Comes with built-in content 0.10.0, which lists the new paid road-sign questions.
App version 0.1.9
Questions that compare two signs show both side by side. When narration has a newer version, Settings offers an update and question and concept cards tell you; deleting narration asks first. Text size follows your phone's setting without being enlarged twice, and the app remembers the size you pick. The lifetime option says it never expires and what it unlocks, and Settings explains how free content updates. Comes with built-in content 0.9.0, which adds five free road-sign questions with narration.
App version 0.1.8
Buttons were reorganised so each screen has one clear main action, the mock exam result and start screens included, and the purchase screen was redesigned. Free narration now downloads from a separate download server first, and falls back to the old address if that fails.
App version 0.1.7
First version offered as a download on this website, alongside Google Play; the website version unlocks content with a redemption code. On the purchase screen, "I have a redemption code" is easier to find and everything below the main button is centred. Codes starting with BCC- are accepted. When a subscription or code ends while the app is open, Settings says so. A concept card shows "back to this question" only when you came from a question.
App version 0.1.6
Menus and questions are available in Traditional Chinese, with narration. You can unlock all content in the app through Google Play with a weekly or monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase; subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Settings shows your subscription status with a Manage subscription button, and the purchase screen says why if prices cannot be loaded. The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy were updated for in-app purchases.
App version 0.1.3
In landscape, screens and panels keep clear of the camera cutout and rounded corners. A failed download says why instead of always blaming the network. A code with extra characters is no longer cut down to a different code. After redeeming a code, Settings shows when your access ends, with a button to extend it, and free devices no longer see "could not check your access" after a content check.
App version 0.1.2
Phones and tablets can turn to landscape, with sign pictures beside the question. Practice progress can reach every question. In Where you stand, the percentage and the points still needed add up to the 80% pass mark. A topic is no longer marked weak because of answers from another topic. A question set's name shows above its questions, a mock exam that ran out of time no longer blocks a new one, and downloads and reports no longer hang on a slow connection.
App version 0.1.1
Seven more road-sign questions show a picture, and some sign pictures now draw correctly. Wrong answers link to the concept card that explains the rule. The tab bar is solid and keeps clear of the screen edge and the navigation buttons, system buttons follow light and dark mode, and titles and topic names fit narrow screens.
App version 0.1.0
First version for testers. Everything works offline; paid content is unlocked with a redemption code in Settings.
